మార్టినా హింగిస్‌తో పోరులో సానియామీర్జాదే పైచేయిగా నిలిచింది. ఆస్ట్రేలియ‌న్ ఓపెన్లో మిక్స్‌డ్ డ‌బుల్స్‌లో సానియా సునాయాసంగా సెమీఫైన‌ల్లో అడుగుపెట్టింది. గురువారం జ‌రిగిన క్వార్ట‌ర్ ఫైన‌ల్లో సానియా... స‌హ‌చ‌రి మార్టినా హింగిస్‌-లియాండ‌ర్ పేస్ జంట‌ను ఓడించింది. ఏక‌ప‌క్షంగా సాగిన క్వార్ట‌ర్స్‌లో టాప్‌సీడ్‌ సానియా-డొడిగ్ జంట 7-6 (7-1), 6-1తో హింగిస్‌-పేస్ జోడీని ఓడించింది. 

తొలి సెట్లో త‌ప్ప సానియా ద్వ‌యానికి హింగిస్ జంట నుంచి ప్ర‌తిఘ‌ట‌న ఎదురుకాలేదు.  సెమీస్‌లో సానియా-డొడిగ్ జంట వెస్నినా-సొరెస్ జోడీతో త‌ల‌ప‌డ‌తారు.  సానియా-హింగిస్ ఇప్ప‌టికే మ‌హిళ‌ల డబుల్స్‌లో తుది స‌మ‌రానికి అర్హ‌త సాధించిన సంగ‌తి తెలిసిందే.
